More about Karen
In her early years, Karen graduated with a Bachelor of Business Communication – Marketing & Advertising. Although successful in the corporate world, Karen had been fascinated with movement and dance from a young age, so she followed her heart to India and Yoga Teacher training. In India, Karen spent several years studying the science of Yoga and Yogic Philosophy. This led to her becoming a certified Yoga Therapist, where she began to assist adults and children with physical and emotional issues to feel, move and breathe more easily.
Karen has been teaching Yoga for 18 years and has had roles as a Yoga Educator. However, her passion for learning didn’t stop there! After moving to Australia about 10 years ago, Karen became a Certified Mat Pilates Instructor and was a member of the first group of graduates in South Australia to complete certification through Polestar Pilates.
Over subsequent years, Karen taught rehabilitation and preventative Pilates at the Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH), Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH), Women & Children Hospital (WCH), as well as various other corporate and private clients. The more she taught movement rehabilitation, the more fascinated she became with the human body and its relationship with functional movement and the breath.
Ever the student, Karen went on to complete a Diploma in Remedial Massage and advanced levels of training with the Upledger Institute International in CranioSacral Therapy. As a result of her personal experience having laser surgery for a tongue-tie, Karen has also completed further training in tongue tie and Oral Restriction assessment and Orofacial Myofunctional therapy.
More recently, she completed the Bachelor of Speech Pathology degree at Flinders University, SA.
